What we do

Wellfit Kids provide unique, fun and lively group fitness classes to kids in years 3 - 6 (ages 7-11).  

 

Martial arts-inspired movements and body weight exercises are choreographed to an infectious soundtrack of base-heavy, uplifting, lyrical music. 

The classes also feature our signature sound-activated light display and a few games, making them highly engaging and great fun to take part in.

 

They are offered as an afterschool activity and provide a regular time each week for kids to:

  • Have fun and bond with others

  • Increase their fitness

  • Express their emotions and let off steam

  • Learn new skills

  • Boost their confidence

  • Improve their coordination and balance

  • Relax and promote their wellbeing

How we do it

We bring the tunes and we pack a punch!


We use satisfying choreographed movements from across the martial arts to release energy and help build a child's coordination, balance and fitness. 
 

The non-contact, non-competitive format ensures inclusivity and fun.

The games and group activities during our sessions foster teamwork and promote social skills. 

We create a supportive environment and through a regular focus on the Wellfit VALUES we actively build a sense of belonging and community.​

Rewarding achievement

At Wellfit Kids we believe it’s important to recognise effort and reward achievement.
 

Every class features a 'Masterclass' track. Here, we take the tempo down a bit and focus on mastering a particular martial arts technique. Once kids have attended the required number of masterclasses, they will achieve an exclusive collectable card recognising their experience in that technique.

Regulation, relaxation

Each energetic session ends with a guided cool down. This helps teach kids how to transition from a highly-activated state to one of deep calm in three steps:
 

  1. After the peak of the last workout track, a change of music and lighting alters the mood in the room.

  2. ​Children are invited to lay back on their towels with their eyes closed.

  3. The instructor will encourage them to regulate their breathing and tune into pleasant sensations within their bodies as gradually their heart rates drop and slowly they come back to rest.

By regularly repeating this practice, kids develop improved awareness of their own bodies and the power of their breath. They will learn how to use the control of their breathing and the focus of their attention to enjoy regulating themselves into a new state of physical tranquility.
